Risk Guard / MetaTrader 5

Your rules.
Stronger than impulse.

Risk Guard is an MT5 trading utility: a manual trade assistant, account protection tool and journal. It does not generate trading signals, and a risk rule is not a guaranteed loss cap. Free for the RoboXpert community.

Arrange your access

You know your rules.
Until the next trade.

The bigger position. The revenge entry. The session that should have ended an hour ago. Sound familiar?

“One more trade. I’ll make it back.”

Put a pause between loss and reaction.

Set entry limits and a pause when a symbol’s loss budget is reached. Give your next decision some breathing room.

“I’ll just increase the size this once.”

Make the risk visible before entry.

Calculate position size from your chosen risk and stop distance. See the exposure before sending the trade.

“I was supposed to stop for the day.”

Give your daily limit a response.

Define an equity-loss threshold and account rules in advance. Keep protection running when the session gets emotional.

“Why do I keep ending up here?”

Look at the pattern behind the trades.

Review your calendar, activity and behaviour after losses. See what your own trading history can tell you.

  1. Entry, stop and target sit on the chart before anything is sent. 1 % risk and a 30-point stop size the position at 0,33 lot.

  2. Two partial targets take 50 % and 25 % of the position off. The final target closes the remainder.

  3. From 1 R the stop moves to the entry. From 1,5 R it trails the best price at a distance of 1 R.

  4. The order goes out with its stop and final target. From here Risk Guard manages the exits in desktop MT5.

  5. 0,16 lot is closed. The stop now sits at the entry price. Break-even does not cover fees.

  6. Another 0,08 lot is closed. The stop follows each new high and only ever improves.

  7. Price turns before the final target. The trailing stop closes the last 0,09 lot.

Hypothetical example on synthetic prices, without fees or slippage; not a result or a forecast. Risk Guard executes partial closes, break-even and trailing in desktop MT5 with Algo Trading enabled. Only the stop and the final target sit at the broker.

Step 7 of 7: The trail closes the rest. 0.00 lots open, 107.04 US dollars realised, stop at 4244.2.

Account protection

Decide your limits
with a clear head.

Set the rules before the session. Risk Guard watches the account from desktop MT5 and responds when one is broken.

11:54. Daily loss 3,12 % / 3 % · Daily stop remains active. Daily stop triggered. New entries blocked until midnight.

No trade without a stop-loss

If the stop-loss is missing for longer than your grace period, Risk Guard closes the trade or sets a stop-loss.

Trade limits

Maximum entries per day and in a rolling 60 minutes. The daily counter resets at 00:00.

Trading hours

Outside trading hours: new entries are blocked and pending orders are deleted.

Risk per symbol

Volume limits per market and a loss budget with a subsequent pause, for this symbol only or for all symbols.

Weekend and swap

Closes trades before the weekend and blocks new entries. Closes affected trades before negative triple swap.

News filter

Blocks new entries around selected economic-calendar events of high, or medium and high, importance.

Rules require a running, connected desktop MT5 terminal with protection and trading permissions enabled. Limits cannot guarantee a maximum loss: slippage, gaps and broker execution can change the outcome.

Trading from your phone

On your phone.
Still within reach.

Trade in MT5 mobile while Risk Guard monitors the same broker account from desktop MT5 or a Windows VPS. It reacts after an order reaches the broker; it cannot block execution on your phone.

  1. You place an order in MT5 on your phone.
  2. The order reaches the broker first and can be executed.
  3. Risk Guard in desktop MT5 sees the new position or order on the same account and checks your rules.
  4. If a rule is broken, it closes the position or deletes the pending order, subject to your settings and broker execution.

The real screens

Risk Guard as it looks
in MetaTrader 5.

The demos on this page use our own drawing style. These are the product’s own screens, from setting up a trade to reviewing the decisions that followed.

Set the rules.
Then trade your plan.

You make the trading decisions. Risk Guard brings planning, account rules and review into your MT5 workspace.

The full trading panel requires a MetaTrader 5 hedging account. Check your MT5 account mode.

Understand trading evidence
  1. Before the trade

Choose your risk, stop and targets. Prepare partial exits, break-even and trailing-stop rules.

  2. During the session

Keep desktop MT5 connected and protection enabled. Monitor account rules, including trades placed from mobile.

  3. After you close

Review the journal. Look at your trade sizes, timing, costs and what you do after a loss.

Is this an indicator or an automated trading strategy?

Risk Guard is an MT5 trading utility: a manual trade assistant, account protection tool and journal. It does not generate trading signals or choose a trading strategy for you.

What do I need to run it?

The full trading panel requires a MetaTrader 5 hedging account. Automated protection and trade management need desktop MT5 running and connected, with protection mode, Algo Trading and the EA’s trading permissions enabled. Use your computer or a Windows VPS, and try your setup on a demo account first.

Does it work with trades placed on my phone?

Yes, when desktop MT5 and Risk Guard are running on the same broker account. Mobile and other external orders reach the broker first. Risk Guard then detects rule violations and can close positions or delete pending orders, subject to your settings and broker execution. It is not a pre-execution block on your phone.

Can it guarantee that I stay below a loss limit?

No. Slippage, gaps, costs, connection failures and broker execution can affect the outcome. A risk rule is not a guaranteed loss cap. Account rules can also affect trades from other tools on the same account, so review their scope carefully.
